Just for some clarity, here’s the images taken from Production Weekly.
For those that don’t know, it’s a premium subscription supplement designed to provide entertainment professionals with exclusive, up-to-date information on the latest productions.
The information they receive is provided by production companies, and they’ve been highly trustworthy since the 90s.
Of course, it’s possible for a company to pull the plug on any project at any time (I’m looking at you Crystal Lake ), but this data clearly signals intent.
For what it’s worth, I don’t like the idea of a Kirby spinoff. I love the fact that Kevin Williamson is back in control of the franchise, but spinoffs are always watered down, diluted versions of the IP we know and love, obviously omitting various central characters. It’s just not that appealing. Why not just wait and make a SCREAM 8?
Of course, I’ll support the film (should it actually go ahead) but I’ll be far less excited about it.
