Dr. Evelyn Brooks (Emma Stone), a marine biologist, is called in to investigate the bizarre changes in the local marine life. What she uncovers is far more disturbing than she could have imagined. The water is not just contaminated – it’s infected with something that seems to have a mind of its own.
As the infection spreads, the town is thrown into chaos. People start acting strangely, and local authorities, led by Detective Marcus Hale (John David Washington), struggle to maintain order. Evelyn teams up with Professor James Carter (Oscar Isaac), an expert in aquatic phenomena, and Lily Anderson (Florence Pugh), a daring investigative journalist, to uncover the source of the contamination before it’s too late.
With time running out and paranoia gripping the town, Evelyn and her team race to stop the infection from spreading beyond the town’s borders. But what they discover could change everything humanity knows about the ocean – and life itself.
